Well-being Book Club: January Poll

Its time to vote for the book that we will be reading in January. To be completely honest, the book suggestions and poll have been rushed today because I made an error. I didn’t realise that the poll can only be set for one day or one week. We felt that one day wasn’t enough time for everyone to vote, so we have gone for a week. But to keep to our time-scale we had to launch the poll tonight! This meant less time to collect suggestions, so if you didn’t manage to get your suggestion in this time, I can only apologise. This is the first time we have done this so there’s bound to be a couple of teething problems, we know for next time!

Below is a list of the book suggestions we have received with a link to their Amazon page, so you get a feel for the books, look at reviews and see how much they cost. When you vote there is no obligation, if the winning book doesn’t appeal to you, you don’t have to buy/borrow it. We are keen to keep this fun and pressure free!

The How of Happiness by Sonja Lyubomirsky

Mind Whispering by Tara Bennett-Goleman

Exercise for Mood and Anxiety by Michael Otto

Overcoming Depression One Step at a Time by Michael E. Addis

Sane New World: Taming the Mind by Ruby Wax

Mindful Compassion by Paul Gilbert

The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle

Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway By Susan Jeffers

Positive Psychology for Overcoming Depression by Miriam Akhtar

The Chimp Paradox by Steve Peters

Calming your Anxious Mind by Jeffrey Brantley

Hardwiring Happiness by Rick Hanson

Radical Acceptance: Embracing Your Life by Tara Brach

Making Friends With Anxiety by Sarah Rayner

The poll is below and will run for 7 days. Everyone has up to 3 votes to use so you can vote for your top 3 books. You can vote for your own suggestions if you want. At the end of the 7 days the book with the most votes wins. In the event of a draw myself, Alex and Rose will vote between the tied books.
